Umpiring Education

Trained and competent umpires are an essential component of cricket. As such NJ Cricket Council Umpires Association (NJCCUA) has embarked on an initiative to improve the quality of umpiring in its member leagues by being affiliated with the United States of America Cricket Umpires Association (USACUA). Therefore, NJ Cricket Council Umpires Association (NJCCUA) is the only organization in the state of New Jersey to hold training for and to conduct examinations on behalf of the West Indies Cricket Umpires Association (WICUA) & United States of America Cricket Umpires Association (USACUA).

NJ Cricket Council is following a very rigorous training procedure in collaboration with USACUA that would require a minimum of 3 years (typically 4 years) to get fully qualified as an ICC umpire.
